Access to Justice Observatory: Accessing Justice at EU and National Level EJNI’s Access to Justice Observatory project has the object of screening legislative developments at EU and national level for compliance with the access to justice requirements of the Aarhus Convention.

Linking the Irish Environment: The aim of the ‘Linking the Irish Environment’ project is to examine how to enable the environment sector across the island of Ireland to cooperate and engage on an all-island and cross-border basis to deal with shared environmental challenges, risks, and opportunities.

Dr Mary Dobbs

Mary is a lecturer at National Univeristy of Ireland, Maynooth, where she specialises in environmental law. Within this she focuses on environmental governance, agriculture and genetically modified crops, as well as addressing the particular challenges posed by Brexit. Key concerns include sustainability, ethics and legitimacy.

Recent publications include pieces on the multilevel governance of GMOs in the Journal of Environmental Law, the enclosure of plant genetic resources via patenting in the Common Market Law Review and the challenges for environmental governance in Northern Ireland in light of Brexit in the Environmental Law Review.

Mary is currently writing a book on Brexit and Agriculture with Ludivine Petetin from Cardiff Law School for Routledge, has given evidence several times to parliamentary inquiries related to Brexit and is working with NGOs and agribusiness on these issues.
