Ole is a Professor of Environmental and Energy Law at Newcastle Law School and a fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Property Law. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Environmental Law Review. Other recent works include an interrogation of the role of the courts in environmental law (with Emma Lees).
He has a general interest in all legal and regulatory matters relating to the environment and he is a joint author of Environmental Law (9th ed.), one of the leading texts in the discipline. In addition, areas of interest include regulation of modern technologies in the context of climate change, as well as the relationship between environmental issues and human rights with a focus on various aspects of energy law, in particular fracking.
