Linking the Irish Environment: The aim of the ‘Linking the Irish Environment’ project is to examine how to enable the environment sector across the island of Ireland to cooperate and engage on an all-island and cross-border basis to deal with shared environmental challenges, risks, and opportunities.

ESDF have been working with the Natural History Museum on a Fixing Our Broken Planet Community of Practice event in partnership with the Northern Ireland Museums Council and supported by National Museum Northern Ireland.

The Fixing Our Broken Planet (FOBP): Community of Practice (CoP) supports practitioners to network and share best practice on how museums can respond to the planetary emergency, with a focus on engaging and empowering young people.

This one-day event is an opportunity for practitioners across Northern Ireland to come together in an informal and non-hierarchal setting, to share learnings through case studies, workshops and talks from multiple perspectives and disciplines. Join us to troubleshoot challenges, brainstorm ideas and gather inspiration to take back into your own organisation with colleagues and cross-sector professionals.

Through workshops, talks and informal networking, we will come together to explore Scientific Data and Storytelling for People & Planet. We will explore how, through thoughtful programming, informed scientific research and meaningful community engagement, we can respond to narratives of climate anxiety and apathy with empowering museum exhibitions and events.

This event is free to attend. Tickets are limited. If you need financial support with expenses this can be provided by the Natural History Museum (where possible). Booking is required, please complete the form.

Please note preference for spaces will be given to those in the Northern Ireland museums sector. Limited to up to 2 members from an organisation.
