We are delighted to invite you to the second webinar in our series on the development of Ireland’s Social Climate Plan, hosted by the Environmental Justice Network Ireland (EJNI).
Following our first webinar introducing Ireland’s Social Climate Plan and what it means for Ireland, this second session will focus on practical policy solutions to ensure a fair and effective transition for those most affected by rising energy and transport costs under the new EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS2).
We’ll hear from an expert and a campaigner on the key policies Ireland must adopt to protect households, improve public transport, and ensure climate action works for everyone in the development of Ireland’s Social Climate Plan.
In addition to discussion and time for questions and updates, the webinar will hear from:
Professor Brian Caulfield, FTCD (Professor in Transportation, Centre for Transport Research, Trinity College Dublin) on Transport Poverty in Ireland: Challenges, Policy and Equitable Solutions
Clare O’Connor (Programme Coordinator, Friends of the Earth Ireland) on Tackling Energy Poverty in Ireland’s Social Climate Plan: Policy Solutions for an Equitable Energy Transition.
