Know Your Rights to Protest

Events

Event poster image
Organiser: FoENI, EJNI, CAJ and PILS in partnership with Alliance for Choice and Bloody Sunday Trust

Date: September 23, 2025

Location: Museum of Free Derry55 Glenfada Park Londonderry BT48 9DR

Times: 5.30pm - 7pm

Cost: Free

This is an important day for environmental and social justice in Derry, as we launch the Know Your Rights to Protest guide into the increasingly shrinking civic space for environmental and human rights protectors.

The launch of this guide is timely given the increasing restrictions on those protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine, and those attempting to address the ecological and climate crises, across these islands and beyond. The right to protest is a fundamental part of our democracy and must be protected.

At the event we will hear from the authors of the guide about the format and rationale for it, and we will also hear from local activists from Alliance for Choice on their experiences of protest.

Crucially, there will also be an opportunity for you to provide feedback on the guide and suggestions for subsequent ‘Know Your Rights’ training.

Printed copies of the guide will be available.
