Sharon is an established member of the Environmental Law and governance community in Europe of over 30 years standing whose career has spanned senior appointments within the academic, civil society, philanthropic and public sectors. In addition to being Professor of Law at Queen’s University, Belfast, where she specialised in environmental law and governance, she has extensive senior executive and advisory experience in several complex public and third sector organisations; including secondment to government as a senior legal adviser, appointment as an Executive Director of the European Climate Foundation and membership of the senior leadership team at ClientEarth. She was Visiting Professor at University College London for several years and is now Visiting Professor at the University of Sussex. Sharon is now a self-employed consultant, based in London providing strategic advice to climate philanthropy, public bodies, university and think tank research groups and the third sector and is a regular contributor to policy webinars on climate governance and law.
