EJNI, alongside the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation and European Movement Ireland, have written to Civil Society Europe, the European Economic and Social Committee, EU Commission, Ireland’s 14 MEPs and the Fundamental Rights Agency to request expansion of the membership criteria for the EU Civil Society Platform to include CSOs based in Northern Ireland.
This call was supported by a range of civil society organisations across the island of Ireland who recognise that given the shared nature of societal and environmental challenges, expansion of the EU Civil Society Platform to include NI CSOs would create an additional and much needed space for joint working on shared challenges.
