Biodiversity in Limerick; Challenges and Opportunities. Talk by Tom Harrington & Tom Tarpey followed by questions & discussion. Limerick’s natural environment is under significant threat due to water pollution, alien invasive species, over use of natural resources, climate change and other pressures.Ireland as an EU Member State has committed to halting biodiversity loss. What can we do on a local level to protect and improve biodiversity in Limerick? Botanist Tom Harrington and Ornithologist Tom Tarpey will outline where we are regarding biodiversity in Limerick and this will be followed by a group discussion of where we go from here.
