As part of the BLAST project, IERC will host a conference focused on exploring methods for engaging young people on sustainability issues

About this Event

BLAST! is an Erasmus+ project that is coming to a close, which focused on developing a non-formal learning programme to enhance youth engagement with sustainability issues. A curriculum has been developed focusing on 6 topics of the sustainable issues that we face today: climate change, natural disasters, biodiversity loss, ocean-health deterioration, air pollution and water scarcity.

Pilot programmes using the BLAST non-formal education methodology engaging with young participants (15-22 years old), have been completed in Ireland, Portugal and Turkey.

As a concluding part of the project the IERC will host a Conference focussed on exploring methods for engaging young people on sustainability issues, that will strongly affect their lives in the coming years.

The BLAST! project included partners from Ireland, Portugal, Netherlands and Turkey and uses video-based digital learning to enhance youth engagement with these issues and explores the possible uses of blockchain as an aid to address these sustainability problems.
