Land use is a crucial climate mitigation measure available to Ireland, but there are significant challenges to be overcome to maximize the potential contribution from land use. The Programme for Government commits to a land use review to ensure that optimal land use options inform all relevant government decisions.

In 2022 the EPA in conjunction with Ordnance Survey Ireland will assemble evidence on land for the land use policy in the Programme for Government.

As part of this consultation, the EPA is inviting the submission of evidence important to informing the 2021 Climate Action Plan National Land Use Review (ref section 17.3.4, page 172).
