Féidhlim Harty is an environmental consultant and writer. His company, FH Wetland Systems, established in 1996, offers designs and guidance on waterway repair and rewilding, eco-friendly wastewater treatment training and education, and holistic land use management for catchment protection and regeneration.

His books include ‘Towards Zero Waste’, which offers clear guidance for anyone wanting to actively be part of the solutions to nurture a healthier and more beautiful world.

FH Wetland Systems have been involved in a number of farmer groups and EIP projects (European Innovation Partnership) around Ireland, looking specifically at ways to use farm scale buffer zones, planted wetland channels and farm ponds to provide habitat and/or to filter field runoff. Some of the projects or organisations we’ve worked with include BASE Ireland, the Inishowen Uplands EIP, the Inishowen Rivers Trust, the Mulkear EIP and BurrenBeo’s Hare’s Corner pond project.

About the venue;

Banner Books opened their first shop, in Ennistymon, in 2019. The second shop, here in Kilrush, opened it’s doors in 2022. Both shops offer a wide selection of new and used books, with a strong natural history section. The Kilrush shop hosts regular events for both readers and writers.

The shop is situated at the bottom end of Frances street, near the marina, just a few doors down from Supervalu. There is ample, free parking both on the street and at the marina.
