Join Joanne Butler of Ourganic Gardens and Joanne Fullerton of Changemakers Donegal over two weekends in March and April for an introduction to regenerative gardening and permaculture design in an urban setting at The Playhouse.
The Playhouse is embarking on an ambitious project to restore nature to a distressed urban site, working with regenerative principles to support the natural ecosystem.
You’ll work directly with this site to learn how to apply forest gardening and permaculture principles to an urban setting, gaining practical, first hand experience of garden design that can be applied to any space.
We will be placing an emphasis on the importance of community over the two weekends, working together and with the land to create a space where food growing, wildflowers, insect and bird life can thrive again.
NB. You must be able to commit to both weekends to take part in this course.
Weekend 1
Dates: Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th March 2023
Time: 10am to 2pm each day
An introduction to global and local food systems, ecosystem restoration, observations and patterns in nature, applying permaculture principles to regenerative garden design and forest gardening in an urban setting.
Weekend 2
Dates: Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April 2023
Time: 10am to 2pm each day
A practical weekend focused on how to implement garden design, working together in Meitheal (cooperation for social need) to witness the transition from learning to doing.
