RUN-EU Circular Economy – Athlone, Ireland: June19th & 20th 2023

Westmeath County Council, Ireland and RUN-EU European Innovation Hubs presents the Inaugural Regional Economy and Society Forum on Circular Economy. This forum aims to bring together relevant stakeholders from the quadruple helix of Academia, Enterprise, Society and Government across Europe and from the Regional University Network – European University (RUN-EU) to discuss, strategize, and propose action plans to aid regional Europe in Sustainable Transformation and Resilience.

The forum, as part of its outputs, aims to inform EU Policy makers on the strategies needed to enable regional, national and European wide, mechanisms to address Digital Transformation and Environmental Sustainability through the establishment of Circular Economic Networks of business and community. By collaborating across the European Regions represented in our RUN-EU alliance, we can enact change on a European scale.

RUN-EU European Innovation Hubs in the areas of:

1) Future and Sustainable Industries;

2) Bioeconomy;

3) Social Innovation,

provide access to research, development, innovation and entrepreneurial expertise, state-of-the-art testbed and living lab facilities to industry and community groups alike. The purpose is to further projects and initiatives which address Circular Economy solution generation and regional employment generation.

The Science Meets Regions Funded Circular Economy Forum brings these experts together in three different locations:

(a) Széchenyi István University, Gyor, Hungary – April 18th & 19th 2023

(b) Instituto Politechnico do Cavado e do Ave, Braga and Barcelos, Portugal – May 25th & 26th 2023

(c) Technological University of the Shannon – Midlands Midwest, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland – June 19th & 20th 2023

Keynote Speakers from Europe and the Regions of RUN-EU will present on current activities and workshops delivered on what the European Innovation Hubs and regional government agencies can do to assist Enterprise and Community to address Sustainable Transformation, Recovery and Resilience to global & regional catastrophies such as COVID-19 and War in Ukraine.

Enterprise or Community groups will have the opportunity to present their products or services in the exhibition hall and network with potential partners.

We encourage anyone from Enterprise, Academia, Social Community Development Groups and Regional Government Agencies to attend one of the three events to learn more, gain future partners and inform EU policy on changes needed to help transform Europe.

Tickets for admission are 100 euros.
